Arnold Schwarzenegger Attacked In South Africa



Arnold Schwarzenegger, popular Hollywood star has been attacked by a man at a show in South Africa. 

The incident happened on Saturday at a sporting event.

The AFP reports that the former politician was conversing with fans at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg when a man took a flying leap and kicked him high in the back.

Schwarzenegger confirmed the incident on Twitter saying “Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about.

“I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat.”

Schwarzenegger was in Johannesburg for the annual Arnold Classic Africa, an international multi-sports festival.

“He was sadly and unexpectedly attacked by a crazed fan as he was doing a walk-through to support athletes,” the organizers said, adding the attacker — who was immediately apprehended — was known to police for similar incidents in the past.

Schwarzenegger told organizers he would not press charges.

Burna Boy Quits Social Media



Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has announced his “permanent” departure from all social media platforms. 

The Nigerian singer made this known on his Instagram story late Tuesday evening where disclosed that his social media will now be managed by management. 

In recent times, Burna Boy used his social media platforms as a tool to speak out against oppression of the working class by the political elite which his fans attritbuted to the influence of Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti in his life.

In April this year, the singer had lamented on Nigeria’s “hopelessness” saying “Our recycled leaders don’t give a f**k about us.”

Announcing his departure from social media, Burna Boy wrote: “I’m leaving all social media platforms permanently. They are now all strictly for my show dates and New music. My social media will now be in full control of management. Love and positivity to ALL.”



In another post, he went on to leave a message for his fans saying “I love you all from the bottom of my heart.”

Daddy Showkey Begs EFCC To Show Naira Marley Mercy



Veteran Nigerian singer, John Asiemo better known as Daddy Showkey has sent out a plea to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to temper justice with mercy in the case of Naira Marley who is currently in their custody for his involvement in cyber crime popularly called “Yahoo Yahoo”.

Naira Marley was arrested alongside Zlatan Ibile; Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses and Abubakar Musa on the early hours of Friday May 10.

However, while Zlatan Ibile and two others have been released on conditional basis, Naira Marley is still cooling his heels at the anti graft agency’s office.

In light of this, Daddy Showkey who became popular for making ‘ghetto’ music has called on the commission to show Naira Marley mercy. 

In a video post on his Instagram handle on Wednesday the Ajegunle born singer said: “Temper justice with mercy. This is just a young man growing up, lets not use his mistakes to spoil his career we all went through so many things growing up….we can use him as a spokesman to young people against crime @officialefcc maybe he will learn with this.”

It was reported that popular Singer Naira Marley, who recently got released by EFCC, has revealed that he has been arrested 124 times when he was still living in England.

Controversial artist, Naira Marley who was arrested yesterday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has just disclosed that he has been arrested 124 times in England. He made this known shortly after his release via video.

“Lemme tell You, you don’t know me I have been arrested 124 times in England and i am not doing any other type of music, No slow songs, no love songs, just street music”.

Naira Marley moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 11. His popular for his street savvy kind of music. Meanwhile, Naira Marley’s close ally, Zlatan Ibile, was also arrested. According to EFCC, They were arrested along with: Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses, and Abubakar Musa.

“Their arrest followed an early morning raid on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 9, Gbangbola Street, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.

“At the point of arrest, the Commission found and recovered a number of items, including laptops, from the suspects”.

“They have so far volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue.”

Meanwhile, Veteran rapper, Ruggedman, has reacted to the arrest of singer, Naira Marley by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The EFCC had yesterday explained why it arrested Naira Marley, real name Afeez Fashola and also confirmed the arrest of Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael aka Zlatan. Ruggedman said he has been accused of reporting the singer to the anti-graft agency, but added that he has no such powers.

Naira Marley was arrested by the EFCC, on Friday over his campaign in support of internet fraudsters also known as Yahoo Boys. Ruggedman had earlier clashed with the singer on social media over his opinion on Yahoo Boys. He had advised him not to mislead Nigerian youths.

In an interview with City Fm on Friday, Ruggedman said he was happy Naira Marley was arrested because the ‘Am I a yahoo boy’ singer played himself.

He said he was expecting to see the singer’s supporters at the EFCC office bearing placards in protest but he never saw any. The musician wondered why Naira Marley should be promoting what everyone had been campaigning against.

He said,

“I wake up this morning to see say EFCC don carry am. I don wait since make all those his people wey dey hala I think say dem for don go EFCC office go protest but well I see dem na… make we  stiill dey wait sha”.

“Well, at the end of the day, my advice to everyone on social media, all the gansters and gangsteresses, you should know that when they push you on socia media, there’s real lfe”.

“When you cross social media fake life with reality, there’ll be problems and that’s what happened to him [Naira Marley]. Reality pulled him out from social media to explain his slavery issue”.

“Some people are saying that I told EFCC to arrest him. I don’t have such power”.

“My fear was when he came out to say such things, and I said ‘do not mislead the youths”.

“A lot of people see all the Benz life and they want to live. But now they know the EFCC and the police are watching. And at the end of the day someone says Ruggedman snitched on me”.

The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission has slammed an 11 Count charge against popular Musician, Naira Marley.

The case filed at the Federal High Court has suit number FHC/L/178c/19.

The charges read:

Count One: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley and Yad Isril (still at large) on or about the 26th day of November 2018, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court conspired among yourselves to use access card No. 5264711020433662 issued to persons other than you in a bid to obtain gain and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27 (1) (b) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015 and punishable under section 32 of the same act.

Count Two reads: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley and Yad Isril (still at large) on or about the 26th day of November 2018, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court attempted to use card No. 5264711020433662 issued to persons other than you in a bid to obtain gain and you thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 27 (1) (b) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015 and punishable under section 32 of the same act.

Count Five reads: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with an intent to defraud, possessed counterfeit card with No. 42658840359191132 issued to another person and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 33 (9) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.

Count Six: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with an intent to defraud, possessed counterfeit card with No. 5264711020433662 issued to another person and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 33 (9) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.

Count Seven: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with an intent to defraud, possessed counterfeit card with No. 5573793034017422 issued to another person and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 33 (9) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.

Count Eight: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with an intent to defraud, possessed counterfeit card with No. 4539782440624281 issued to Nicole Louise Malyon and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 33 (9) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.

Count Nine: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with an intent to defraud, possessed counterfeit card with No. 4921819410257431 issued to Timea Fedorne Tatar and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 33 (9) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.

Count Ten: ““That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court attempted to retain possession of more than two cards issues in the name of different cardholders and which cards were retained under circumstances which constitute card theft and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27 (1) (a) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015 and punishable under section 34 of the same act.

Count 11: ““That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did retain the possession of more than two cards issued in the name of different cardholders and which cards were retained under circumstances which constitute a card theft and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 34 of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.

The charge dated May 14, 2019 was personally signed and collected by Naira Marley on May 15, 2019 who is still being detained by the EFCC in Lagos.

Seun Kuti Reacts To Akeredolu’s Plan To Cultivate Cannabis In Ondo State



Seun Kuti, son of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti has reacted to Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State Governor’s plan to cultivate Cannabis in the state.

Akeredolu and Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah rtd. the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had during a visit to Thailand to learn about Cannabis extract development said that they were in the country to see “how can (cannabis) be cultivated for specific purposes and not be abused?”

The Governor tweeted, “Our focus now is Medical Marijuana cultivation in controlled plantations under the full supervision of the @ndlea_nigeria. I strongly implore the FG to take this seriously as it is a thriving industry that will create 1000’s of jobs for our youth & spur economic diversification.

“We all know that Ondo State is the hotbed of Cannabis cultivation in Nigeria. We know how to grow it and it thrives well in the sunshine state. With an estimated value of $145 billion in 2025, we would be shortchanging ourselves if we failed to tap into the legal marijuana market.”

On Wednesday, alongside a picture of the Governor’s tweet, Seun Kuti suggested that he might be relocating to Ondo state in the nearest future.

The post read: “Ehn Mr. excellency sir, if u want me to move to your state, just say so. This beating about the bush is unnecessary. Afrobeat is about to switch home base y’all. Just imagine one good joint for my back ache then better Ondo pounded yam to heal my stomach pain, nuff said #getthesax#getmyload!!”
