Eight killed in two attacks in Burkina Faso

Five people, including a pastor died in an attack on a church in Burkina Faso, security and local sources said Monday in a country which has seen a surge in killings blamed on jihadists.

At least eight people were killed in two attacks in the north of Burkina Faso, security sources said on Sunday.

Seven people were killed on Saturday by an armed group in Deneon village in Bam province while a soldier was also killed when an army unit was attacked in Deou in Soum province, the sources said.
